LOYD AND PATRICIA JOHNSON, LEAD PASTORS

Loyd and Pat have a rich heritage in Christianity and a deep hunger for God and to know Him more. They are very passionate about the people and ministries of the New Church. They believe in the vision, purpose, and mission of Gateway. They have modeled faithfulness, loyalty and passion for the cause of Christ. Loyd and Pat have lived in Columbus, Georgia for many years and have solid roots in this City.

The church was started several years ago from scratch with a 4x4 cargo trailer; under their leadership, the church has grown to a weekend attendance of over one hundred and fifty. After two incredible years of ministry, the church purchased a formal night club and converted it into a place of worship; the current location of Gateway Church. In 2012, the church purchased 15 acres of land on Buena Vista Road, not far from where the church is currently meeting. 

Loyd is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He has previously pastored, taught workshops, and conferences. Loyd earned a B.A. degree in Bible and Theology through Global University of the Assemblies of God; a B.A. degree in business finance; an A. A. S. in general business.  Pat has served as Church Administrator, Children's Pastor, and women ministry coordinator. She has a B.S. Degree in General Business.
